Credits
The portraits of historical figures come from Wikimedia Commons. We only use images that are in the public domain or released under CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA, and we credit every one of them here.
How we treat the images
Each portrait is cropped to a square, converted to grayscale and printed as a halftone in our poster colors. Those are changes to the original file. Where the original is licensed CC BY-SA, our halftone version is shared under the same license and version; where it is CC BY, the author credit below applies to our version too. Public domain and CC0 images carry no conditions, but we credit them anyway.
Figures without a freely licensed image show their initials instead. If you hold the rights to a better portrait, or see a credit that is wrong, write to corrections@politicaltests.org.
Country flags
Country flags are from flag-icons by Panayiotis Lipiridis and contributors, used under the MIT License. Historical states without an official flag in that set are shown without a flag.
