The service
PoliticalTests offers free political tests, quizzes, result pages, share images, group maps and reference pages about ideologies, parties and historical figures. You do not need an account. We provide the service as it is and as available. We work to keep it accurate and online, but we do not promise it will always be available, error free or unchanged. We may change, pause or remove features at any time.
Not advice
Results, matches and profiles are a summary of your answers on our axes, built with a published method. They are not a scientific or psychological assessment, and not political, legal, financial, voting or professional advice. A match with an ideology, party or historical figure is a similarity, not a recommendation. Make your own decisions.
Group maps and nicknames
When you join a group map, the nickname you choose and your position are visible to anyone with the group link. You are responsible for the nickname you pick. Nicknames and group names must not:
- include anyone's full real name or other personal details, unless it is your own and you are happy to share it,
- contain slurs, threats, harassment, sexual content or hate toward any group,
- impersonate someone else, or advertise or link to anything.
We may remove nicknames, dots or whole groups that break these rules, without notice. To ask for a removal, write to privacy@politicaltests.org with the group link.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the site, or access parts of it that are not meant to be public,
- scrape or copy the site or its question bank in bulk, or use automated tools to submit results,
- submit fake results to distort group maps or statistics,
- use the site for anything unlawful, or present our results as if they were an official or scientific rating of a person.
Sharing your own result, share image or a link to any page is welcome.
The paid report
- What it is. An optional, in-depth report on your answers to the Political Compass Test or the Political Values Test, sold for $9.99 as a one-time purchase. No subscription and no account.
- Who sells it. Payment is handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. Dodo processes your payment, handles sales tax or VAT and sends your receipt, under its own terms.
- Delivery. The report is digital content, available straight after payment on a private web page and as a PDF. We email you the link, which keeps working.
- Refunds. 14 days, no questions asked. Details are on the refund policy page. After a refund, the report link stops working.
- Same scoring. The report uses the same scoring as the free result. It explains your answers in more detail. It does not change them.
Our content
The tests, statements, explainers, profiles, design and artwork are ours, unless a page says otherwise. You may quote short parts with a link back, and share your result and share images freely. Please do not republish the question bank or whole pages without permission. The names of parties and people on reference pages belong to them and are used only to describe them.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, or for decisions you make based on a result. For the paid report, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Links to other sites are provided for reference. We are not responsible for their content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed], and disputes will be handled by the courts of [venue to be confirmed], without taking away any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
Changes to these terms
