FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the embedded test the same as the full Political Compass Test?

It uses 12 of the 48 statements from our Political Compass Test, with the same scoring. That gives a quick, rough position. Readers can open their full result on PoliticalTests and take the full test for a more precise one.

Does the widget set cookies or track my readers?

No. The widget sets no cookies, loads no ads and no third-party scripts, and stores no IP addresses. When a reader finishes, we save the two scores, the hostname of your site and coarse context such as country and device type, the same way the main site does.

Will it slow down my page?

The loader script is under 2 KB and the widget loads lazily, only when a reader scrolls near it. Everything is served from our own domain behind a global cache.

Can I use it in a class?

Yes. It works on phones, tablets and classroom screens and needs no student accounts. For a whole class on one shared map, use our free group maps instead.
