A deeper look at your politics. 89 balanced statements scored on four independent axes: economics, civil liberty, society and diplomacy. Free, with no account needed.
It measures four axes. Economic: equality versus markets. Civil: liberty versus authority. Society: progress versus tradition. Diplomatic: global cooperation versus national sovereignty.
How long does the test take?
The Political Values Test has 89 statements and takes about 12 minutes.
How is it different from a political compass test?
A compass test reduces your views to two axes. The values test keeps civil liberty and social tradition separate and adds a diplomatic axis, so two people at the same compass point can still have quite different profiles.
Is the test neutral?
Statements describe policies and values without naming parties or politicians. Every axis has statements keyed in both directions to cancel out a general tendency to agree, and the scoring method is published in full.
Do I need an account, and are my answers stored?
No account is needed. Individual answers are stored only if you opt in to research, and they are never sold.
Where do the questions come from?
The statements were written for this site, drawing on published frameworks such as the Pew Research political typology, Moral Foundations Theory and the Nolan chart, then reviewed for balance and plain language.
